Cities I don't want to stay in!

The renowned Zagat survey recently revealed the top 3 cities that are considered most expensive for dining-out (average price of 3 course meal + drink + tip for one person is given alongside):

1. London - $79
2. Paris - $72
3. Tokyo - $71

Surprisingly, New York is half as much ($39). And what about Mumbai, you ask? Zagat doesn't cover it.

How is the survey conducted: The Zagat survey is web-based, hence easily compiles and processes customer ratings and reviews on a large range of restaurants across major cities of the world (apparently, Mumbai doesn't count!). Research parameters include price, service, quality of food among many others. The results of the restaurant survey has been aggregated to give city-wise trends and the above deductions.

Here's the result of my not-so-renowned survey (also web-based) of the cheap eat outs in the same 3 cities. Prices are hidden between the lines.

London:
Canela - A cosy little branch of Covent Garden’s Canela has just opened in west Soho. The seating might be limited and a bit spartan, but this café has brought with it the same, very appealing Portuguese, Brazilian and international menu. Dishes include feijoada – a black bean stew with chorizo served with rice – and vatapá, a soup-like stew of bread and coconut milk with large prawns. The luscious range of cakes and desserts include Brazilian coconut and lemon confections, as well as the ever-popular pasteis de nata (baked custard tarts). Galão (caffè latte), açai juice (pressed from the Brazilian açai berry) or wines are an added incentive.
Canela, 1 Newburgh St, W1F 7RB (020 7494 9980/www.canelacafe.com) Oxford Circus tube. Less than 20 quids

Paris:
You get of at Métro "Saint Michel", look for Rue de la Huchette in the Latin Quarter. It has all kinds of foods and prices, the cheapest menu was 8 Euro for Onion soup, steak and ice cream. Throw in 12 E and you will have typical French food, lots of Fondue and Raclette Menus going around. You also have international food, Greek, Italian, Spanish, Turkish; and if you're really short on money, have a Crêpe (3,5 E) or a Panini Sandwich. Great Place. You wont be disappointed.

Tokyo:
Jigoku Rammen Hyottoko (Hell Ramen Mask/Clown), 1-8-4 Ebisu Minami (tel 3791-7376). Recognizable by the fire-breathing demons out front, specialty of the house is the triple x-rated Y1300 akaike jigoku ("Red Lake of Hell") ramen; fail to choke it all down & you have to go into the kitchen and wash 10 dishes. They have other cheaper and less spicier noodles too.

Please don't shout at me for hogging your blog space. I know its rude esp. when I haven't been posting on mine!
