Went to a friend's place for lunch on Sunday. He had been raving for over a year now about the awesome pau-bhaji he makes. We took up his invitation...to not only eat the pau-bhaji but see him make it too. 11:30 am is when the grind started. First, we went to get the paus from his local bakery - 50 of them for 9 of us! For the next 2.5 hours, the 'expert chef' toiled away in the kitchen while the rest of the gang chilled out in the living room chatting and building an appetite. At first we did help out with peeling potatoes and de-seeding peas (picture above is proof of that) but soon left him to conduct his own business. The food totally rocked! His masala pau was a hit (wish I had left more room for it). What I believe he did was spread the bhaji between the pau, put some chopped tomatoes, capsicum, onion and corriander into it and then fried it lightly on the tava with some Amul butter. He then garnished the hot masala pau with a thin layer of cheese.
After a hearty fill, two hours of sleep was well called for.

I was treating my daughter to a few rides in infinity mall today when hunger struck.
The food court of infinity is quite cool with a huge variety. But the one oulet which is great VFM is a place called Malgudi Days. The south indian fare is outstanding. But i was in no mood in having south indian today. That's when I came across the pav bhaji. I thought it strange for a south indian outlet to serve pav bhaji. But it was a huge surprise. The pav bhaji was one of the best I have had. A huge plate of piping hot delicious pav bhaji and four huge nicely buttered pavs made my day. Not too wet and not too dry...the bhaji was just ideal. All for just 75 bucks. A must try.
